Flower Wreath Watercolor

Flower wreaths come in a wide range of sizes, shapes, colors and materials but what makes them unique is the use of watercolor. Using a sharp pair of scissors, snip off the exposed part of the stem (the part that touches the ground) about one inch above the junction where it meets the paper. Use your snipper to trim the remaining stems into quarter-inch pieces. Trim all excess stems until there are only about four inches left.

Now it's time to attach the floral stems to the center of your wreath. Start by placing a single stem in the middle of the top piece of white paper. Fold the other half of the paper over the first stem so it is securely in place under the first stem. Secure the third stem with another single stem. Repeat this process with the other half of the paper. Be sure to keep the folded paper centered on the wreath.

Next, bring the entire bottom of the wreath taut. Fold the bottom half of the paper down so it is underneath the stems, but not below the junction where it meets the white paper. Now, using the center part of your fingers, gently grip the paper where it overlaps.

Now you're ready to hang your flower wreath! Use the large, wide bow you have just made to gently guide the flower through the air. As you gather up the paper, rub off any excess paper at the base by rubbing the inside of the fingers along the edges of the bouquet. Continue doing this over until all the paper is gone.
