Into Horse Racing

If you're into horse racing or betting on races, it's likely that you've seen at least a few running horse images. Horse enthusiasts have been enjoying them for decades, since the first recorded harness races in England in the late Eighteenth Century. The sport has grown steadily over time and there are now a wide variety of disciplines for both experienced and beginning jockeys to enjoy. While most of us associate wagering with horses, it's actually illegal in many states to bet on horse races without careful consideration to the inherent risks. Running is certainly a dangerous sport, but so is horse racing.

The popularity of images of horses and racing dates back to the days of the Roman Empire when artists created detailed portraits of the favorite. They were drawn by hand and depict exotic locations, towns, fields, and other objects that the horse was often used to traverse. These images helped increase public interest in equestrian sports, and they gave people a visual depiction of what it felt like to ride a horse. From depictions of victorious Thoroughbred races through to the popular images of contemporary riders like Justin Rose and Joanna Rowley, horse images have always given the sport a human touch.

Today, horse images continue to be an integral part of the sporting world. There are many websites dedicated to hosting images of horses and other equine sports. Some of these websites are devoted purely to horse racing while others provide images of many different sports as well. There are also image search engines, many of which allow users to search for specific types of equine pictures. The images include everything from photos of a horse's natural habitat to promotional images meant to highlight a certain horse.

The images can be found free and you can even search for terms like “running horse” to find what you're looking for. Most of the sites are easy to navigate and most of the pictures provide clear details. This makes it possible to browse through the selection and find that perfect picture you were looking for. The selection on most of the sites tends to be large enough to provide a reasonable amount of variety.

Some of the images feature actual horses but instead are used as background. These pieces tend to be smaller and they show only the horses' faces. You'll find a variety of colors and designs available so you're sure to find something to fit your personal style.

Not all of the horses in the pictures are of professional winners though. Many of the photos feature animals that are part of the public domain. These are horses that have been registered but aren't yet licensed to race. They may be in training or they could just be classified as being unqualified because they haven't yet competed in a race. Some of the best examples of unlicensed horses in the world include Thoroughbreds such as Thoroughbred Texas High School Horseracing, Thoroughbred Arabians and Thoroughbred Quarter Horses.

Some of the images feature thoroughbreds from non-winners of competitions. There are images of horses that were part of a relay race that finished first or second and even third. There are also images of non winner Thoroughbreds. No matter what category your horse is in you should be able to find an image that fits that criteria.

If you're not sure where to find these images you can try internet search engines. There are plenty of search engines out there that offer horse picture databases. Simply type in the term “horse” into the search box and go through the results until you find a site that offers what you're looking for. You should be able to find a wide selection of images that show different aspects of each horse's life. The best sites offer a wide selection of horses from many different categories and you should be able to take your time and find pictures that appeal to you.
